Well, I was lost and on my own tried to recover by going to a variety of rehab centres, went for detox for 2 days, even got an implant, but that did not help me at all, because of the trauma I went through. I had no chance of recovering on my own I never understand why this kept on happening to me but something amazing happen to me something that come to my mind I really needed help and I realized that I could only get that help through to treatment centre and my higher power led me to PRC this place is the best thing to happen to me I now understand why I used drugs, I understand that I'm powerless and I surrender to god PRC has change my life and it has made a very huge difference to my life. I now believe I can reach my life goals.

I came to PRC Recovery as a broken and selfish person. I did not think that my feelings would ever go away. The step 1 made it worse but I eventually understand and realise that I am the most important person and that it is me that must get better, nobody else.

From the very first day when I checked in on the 25th of July 2022 I felt at home. The whole staff welcomed me with warm hands. I still remember each one of them gave me a hug. That put my mind at ease. The very same day we had a session with Persty, and I participated. I felt free during group. That is where I realized that I made the best decision to come to PRC recovery. The fellowship was so nice and still is. My stay at PRC Recovery was 100% enjoyable. I will always remember upon arrival, Megan asking me "Lizzy are you ready?" I proudly responded - Yes, I am ready." No words can describe how much I appreciate the help and love I received at PRC Recovery. I will miss you.

PROGRAM MODEL
OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO HELP THE CLIENT ACHIEVE AND MAINTAIN ABSTINENCE FROM ADDICTIVE CHEMICALS AND BEHAVIOURS.
Helping the client recover from the addiction's damage to the client's life. Within this model, the agent of change is the client. The client must take responsibility for working on a program of recovery. However, although recovery is ultimately the client's task, he or she is encouraged to get a great deal of support from others such as counsellors, treatment staff, sponsors, drug-free or recovering peers, and family members.
We address the symptoms of drug addiction and related areas of impaired functioning and the content and structure of the client's ongoing recovery program. This time-limited model focuses on behavioural change, 12-step ideology and tools for recovery, and self-help participation over 90 days. The programme includes daily activities including individual/group counselling sessions. All content and models are reviewed regularly and updated according to internationally accepted standards.
PROGRAM GOALS
-
Lifelong abstinence from alcohol and other mood-altering, addictive substances and behaviours together with an unimpaired, satisfying, comfortable and fulfilling lifestyle.
-
Addictive disease education and client awareness that they are responsible for their own recovery.
-
Full understanding of the serious disorder of chemical and/or behavioural addiction and the accessing of tools to ensure ongoing recovery and healthy lifestyle choices.
-
Understanding the “family illness”. The client is made aware of how addictive disease has impacted the whole family.
-
Further Health Prevention and Promotion Activities.
"I'M NOT TELLING YOU IT IS GOING TO BE EASY, I'M TELLING YOU IT'S GOING TO BE WORTH IT."
The myths we find about drug and alcohol rehabs result in confusion. To ease these anxieties or confusions we create myths. Invented to explain situations we don't understand or have experience with. This blog will help you to dispel some of the myths about drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
TREATMENT MODEL
The Minnesota Model approach will be implemented to ensure thorough and ongoing assessment of all aspects of the client and of multi-modal therapeutic approaches. It includes group and individual therapy, family education and support, and other methods. A multidisciplinary team plan and assist in the treatment process of each client. The goals are achieved by applying the principles of the 12-step philosophy and evidence-based therapy. The ultimate goal is behavioural change or change in basic thinking, feeling and acting and lifelong abstinence.
FOUNDATION CYCLE
The recovery process begins after acknowledging that you are unable to stop on your own. The foundation cycle begins with accepting your addiction and surrendering yourself to recovery. Why you need help from a professional:
-
After years of substance abuse, your brain chemistry changes in a way that disrupts the normal function of a person’s decision-making process, inhibitions and risk vs. reward analysis.
-
Psychological and social factors are often powerful stimuli for substance abuse relapse.
-
Supervised detoxification helps with withdrawal symptoms and could be dangerous without supervision.
-
Confronting life on your own is not easy.
ACTION RECOVERY CYCLE
The action recovery phase is intended to help addicts clean up the mistakes they’ve made, heal broken relationships, and rebuild their lives. Part of the action phase includes the following steps:
-
Identify any areas of regret, embarrassment, anger and admitting to any past poor behaviour.
-
Allow yourself to remove any wrongs and eliminate any character defects.
-
Write down all the people you have hurt through your addiction and make amends.
-
Monitor yourself for any wrong behaviours and admit when you are wrong.
MAINTENANCE AND GROWTH CYCLE
The maintenance and growth cycle helps maintain the commitment to sobriety while helping others in addiction heal. This is achieved by daily inventory, regular fellowship meetings, spiritual growth and service.
