PRE-ADMISSIONS
Before admission can take place, there are several factors that need to be taken into consideration. These factors ensure that the individual receives the most appropriate and effective care for their unique needs.
INTERVENTION
Is the client willing to be admitted?
Acknowledging and addressing a loved one's problem requires careful planning and preparation. Conducting a successful intervention entails ensuring that everyone involved understands the process and their roles.
dETOX
A telephonic pre-screening will be done to assess if the client needs hospitalised detoxification.
Factors that are taken into consideration:
-
drug of choice;
-
amount and length of abuse;
-
method of use;
-
age; and
-
co-existing medical and/or psychiatric conditions.
MENTAL Health
Factors such as the presence of co-occurring mental health disorders, emotional stability, and overall psychological functioning are carefully evaluated to advise an appropriate program.
"AWAKENING IS NOT CHANGING WHO YOU ARE, BUT DISCARDING WHO YOU ARE NOT"
Embarking on the journey of recovery from substance abuse is a significant and courageous decision. Our program is specifically designed to address these factors and guide individuals toward a healthier and more fulfilling life free from addiction.
INDIVIDUALISED TREATMENT
With the establishment of individual treatment plans, we use several tools which form part of our integrated model of recovery. Some of these tools will also apply to group activities.
Integral assessments and assignments are conducted throughout the first week of admission. All assessments are prepared to take critical information into consideration when developing their Individual Treatment Plans. Assessments will typically include the following:
MEDICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
A thorough physical and psychological evaluation is done by our consulting general practitioner. This is to assess the overall state of physical well-being and the possible harm that has already been done through the abuse of a particular substance or combination of substances.
INTAKE ASSESSMENTS
A psychosocial assessment of current life stressors, mental health issues, relationship issues, and psychological status is done by the Social Worker, Occupational Therapist and Recovery Coaches respectively.
This includes a family assessment to examine particular nurturing and/or restrictive functions of the client's support system.
ASSIGNMENTS
Reflecting on the impact that the substance has had over one's life in areas such as social, family, financial, health, etc, to determine if there is any possible denial in their substance use.
PERSONALITY PROFILING AND STRENGHTS SURVEYS
The importance of this assessment is that it provides one with self-reflection and understanding and provides an introspective self-report about how you perceive the world around you and make decisions. Completing this assessment allows for an increased ability to predict clinically relevant information and to develop effective treatment strategies.
INDIVIDUAL TREATMENT PLAN
The IDP defines and outlines the course of treatment. The goals align with one’s desired outcome, followed by measurable, time-sensitive steps toward achieving them. It will reflect as an agreement between the case managers and the client.
DAILY INVENTORY
The daily inventory is created as a platform to monitor ongoing challenges or progress made throughout the program.

INTEGRATIVE HEALING APPROACHES
BODY STRESS RELEASE (bsr)
The BSR approach is based on the idea that physical and emotional stress can cause the muscles and connective tissues in the body to tighten and become imbalanced. This can lead to a range of symptoms, including pain, stiffness, fatigue, and reduced mobility.
REIKI HEALING
As a complementary therapy, the aim is to restore balance and promote healing in the body by working with the body's natural energy systems. It’s healing is based on the principle that the body has an innate ability to heal itself, and that by addressing imbalances in the body's energy field, the body's natural healing processes can be stimulated.
EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE (EFT) THERAPY
Also referred to as tapping or psychological acupressure, this modality creates balance in your energy system while tapping on meridian points (energy hot spots). It relieves symptoms of negative experiences or emotions while clearing it from the subconscious.
HUMAN DESIGN
Human Design is a system into an individual's unique energetic blueprint. It offers a framework for understanding one's personality traits, strengths, and areas of potential growth. By aligning with their design, individuals can make decisions and live in harmony with their authentic selves, fostering self-acceptance and personal growth.
TENSION & TRAUMA RELEASING EXERCISES (TRE)
Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) are a set of simple exercises that trigger a natural tremoring reflex in the body to release stress, tension, and trauma. By resetting the body's stress response systems, TRE relieves the chronic effects of stress and supports general well-being. It taps into the body's innate ability to shake off accumulated tension, similar to how animals naturally release stress. Practised under guidance, TRE offers a straightforward yet powerful approach to promoting physical and mental health.
PSYCHOLOGY
Psychology, the study of the human mind and behaviour, has diverse applications in enhancing people's lives. It offers insight into mental health, enabling individuals to gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and actions, especially for those dealing with conditions like depression, anxiety, or trauma.
NUTRITION
Nutrition knowledge empowers us to make informed choices that nourish our bodies, providing the essential nutrients we need for optimal health. Restoring the connection to healthy eating involves embracing a balanced and varied diet, incorporating whole foods, and making conscious decisions about the foods we consume. By prioritizing nutrition and practising mindful eating, we can establish a harmonious relationship with food and foster overall well-being.
GARDENING
Gardening is a great way to improve physical and mental health by providing a variety of benefits, including increased physical activity, stress relief, improved mental health, better nutrition, and increased social interaction.
RECREATION THERAPY
The primary goal of recreational therapy is to help clients recognize and process emotions that they are struggling with. It can help individuals improve their physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual ways of living. At the same time, these activities can help boost resilience, further aiding individuals as they learn to overcome the specific challenges associated with addiction and recovery. Therapy includes drama, art, and music.
PROGRAMME
Where you not only gain knowledge about the entirety of your individuality but also come to understand the wholeness of who you truly are. a distinctive platform to start embodying your extraordinary essence.
yoga
As a system of exercises and techniques, it focuses on controlling the body and the mind, promoting physical and mental health, and achieving a sense of inner peace and balance.
MEDITATION
Meditation is considered a type of mind-body complementary medicine. Meditation can produce a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind. Benefits include promoting emotional health, controlling anxiety, enhances self-awareness, improves sleep and lengthens memory span.
RELAXATION
Making time to unwind and enjoy life is an important part of maintaining good health. Certain things become mundane and boredom can be uncomfortable in active addiction so re-discovering what you like to do with free time is a necessary component of treatment.
NUTRITION
Healthy eating restores the body and mind. 3 Daily meals and 2 snack times are provided based on a menu designed by a dietician.
EXCURTIONS
We strive to take the clients out bi-weekly to experience the beautiful nature our surroundings have to offer.
COMMUNITY
PROJECTS
A way to give back to those less fortunate is only the outcome of what is taught. It teaches connectedness and raises social awareness. In turn, it provides a healthy boost to your self-confidence, self-esteem, and life satisfaction.

AFTERCARE
Relapse is defined as an event, or stimuli that cause an individual in recovery, to resort to the use of a mind-altering substance, following a prolonged period of abstinence. The National Institute of Drug Abuse reports that between 40 – 60 percent of individuals are at risk of relapsing during the first twelve months of recovery. A fundamental function of addiction treatment is promoting long-term recovery through relapse prevention programming, and therefore a continuum of support post-primary rehabilitation treatment is critical to successful recovery.
The aftercare treatment plan answers the need for continued support and is developed as a collaboration between the client, family/loved ones, and the case management team. Types of areas explored in the aftercare plan include the following:
-
Routine
-
Fellowship meetings attendance
-
Friends and relationships
-
Social
-
Employment and monies
-
Body Image
-
Medication
-
Continued specialists visits
-
Triggers to avoid

ADDICTION:
A FAMILY DISEASE
Addiction is a family disease and we treat it as such. Family integration is a very sensitive matter to us and a lot of effort goes into assisting the family to handle their situation in the best possible way.
Not only is regular feedback necessary but a true asset in assisting in reconnecting recovering addict with their families.
A lot of relationships are broken due to certain behaviours of the addicts, not having enough knowledge about the disease or a general sense of hopelessness.
We hope to achieve this through family meetings and support groups. It is imperative for recovering addicts to have a healthy environment to go back to once they are reintegrated with society after treatment.
We encourage family members to take advantage of the family counselling sessions we offer. This service is offered as part of the treatment package. These sessions pertain to immediate family members or significant others who have been affected by their loved one’s addiction.
FOR THE FAMILIES
"Family is the anchor that holds us through life's storms."
Having a loved one struggling with addiction can be a challenging and emotional journey for the entire family. Often, the focus is primarily on the individual battling addiction, but it is equally important for family members to engage in self-development and personal growth to improve relationships and foster healing within the family unit.
Engaging in self-work as a family member of an addict offers an opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery. It allows individuals to explore their own strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Through self-reflection and personal development, family members can cultivate resilience, develop coping strategies, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. This personal growth not only benefits the individual but also contributes to the overall well-being of the family unit.
